1978 DT175 fenders was created by yamahahaha
I want to get some opinions on what to do next. I have a 78 DT175 with original Balboa Blue fenders. I spilled some Marvel Mystery Oil on the rear fender and this is what it looks like now.
What to do next???? Should I bath both front and rear fenders in MMO or what ???? Normally I would scrape with a razor and scotch brite pad but I'm not sure if the oil has soaked thru due to the fact that the fenders are original and the plastic has thinned so much

I love requests for opinions because it eases my worry of giving wrong information.
If it were me.....I would rub it down in MMO. It seems to have richened up the faded blue.

Thanks Schu
I like your answer for 2 reasons. The fenders are in great shape...NO cracks or any real blemishes...
Reason 1...No scraping with blade
Reason 2... A lot less time consuming
I'm swaying that way UNLESS someone can come up with something else... Just waiting for Markt

I'm NOT good with plastics... don't have the patience.
Only thing I don't know is if solvents in MMO might weaken or attack the plastic? That would be my only concern. If it looks like it's fine, then why not?
I'd probably try washing the MMO off with Dawn dish soap and then using something like Meguirs "back to black" or other plastic polish on the whole thing. I've heard Mop and Glow works wonders on plastic... just got a bottle to try.

Thanks Mark, I did not think of trying Dawn... I might try the dawn and if it does not work then maybe try the Mop and Glow. I have heard that sometimes works. Boy Mark I did not think you had any weak spots when it came to these bikes....But even SUPERMAN had a weakness.
Thanks buddy and you too Schu

I'm not superman... I've just screwed up a lot of stuff!
I've had plastic damaged by solvents... just don't know what's in MMO or if it could break down the plastic over time. Dawn probably won't remove the stain... but might remove some of the MMO.
