Didn't see it on YouTube but did pull the recipe off some DIY plating website a few years ago. Going to the auto parts store tomorrow to get a little battery acid so I can do the yellow chromate. I still have to do the seat support and I can see that has the yellow chromate. Was going to do the flasher clamp but mine was in such good shape I thought I would leave well enough alone. I was watching a video by Harold Demes to see how he rebushed the throttle plate on a quadrajet and noticed he had a video on doing yellow chromate. Looks like it will be easy and only takes about a ten second dip.
Cheers

There's a pretty big thread including instructions on how to do the plating without buying an expensive plating kit... Scott had a lot of success and some good tips in the thread.

That is the recipe I have been using. I don't use the muratic acid for cleaning parts though. I have it here (pool owner) but didn't want to have to deal with getting rid of it at some point. I media blast it lightly wire brush and then soak in acetone to get rid of any grease or oils. It has worked real well. In the beginning I used a 6v battery charger set on 2A. Was a bit much and parts did not look as good as they do with the adjustable power supply. I think if one wants to do this the adjustable power supply is a must. I think I paid $40 for mine. In the beginning I had planned on sending all this stuff out but could only find zinc plating services that operated on a production level. Had I found a service I'm guessing it would have cost more to do one bike than the whole set up I made. I haven't totaled it up but I am guessing that the whole setup with chemicals was under $100.
Cheers
