Yamaha RT1B tool kit was created by mike8162

Hey All, did a little zinc plating last night but I'm not sure if my tool kit is complete. Not in the picture is a small black oxide coated hex wrench. I'm pretty sure that does not belong as the only thing it fit were the two allen bolts on one of the covers which were not original and have been replaced with JIS screws. Is there anything missing here. Hoping to get this bike mobile early next week, just waiting for my seat cover and a few bits at the plater. TIA
Cheers

Nice job on the plating!! :likey :likey :likey

The Tech Library has a nice copy of the owner's manual which happens to have a picture of the toolkit.

You did a nice job, they look great.......... tell us how you plated the tools.

I use Eastwood Tin-Zinc solution, with adjustable power supply.
Thanks Mark

There was also a thin shoelace-type ribbon that tied the pouch closed if you want to be 100% :Buds

I just use the homemade electrolyte. Distilled water, vinegar, epsom salts, zinc sulfate and Karo syrup. I have a couple zinc ingots wired up in a five gallon bucket with a flattened copper water pipe to suspend parts. I use a variable power supply as well. I think that is real important. I usually plate 3 times and cleaning gray off with steel wool between plating layers. After the final I use toothpaste and a stiff non metal brush.

I was over the moon when I found my bike had the full kit still in it's place.
Might need to get the polish out :)

I'm missing #6 as well and have looked and looked. Rare like hens teeth. I'd buy one if you find two on your qwest!

Nice find. I know what you mean. I bought a CT-1C a few years back, and when I showed up to get it, there was the complete tool kit, an owner's manual, a shop manual, and various other original paperwork. B)

It's great when you get a few extras like that with a bike.
I love that all of these bike we own have a history to them and if you can get a piece of that history all the better.
