I ran across a bike that the owner said he rebored and used a HAP JONES piston/rings... Can someone tell me about them???

Old aftermarket brand... I remember them as what looked like good quality Japanese-manufactured pistons and rings in a Hap Jones box. Local Yamaha dealer used to sell them as "kits" and said they were "reboxed OEM" at a cheaper price. That could have been BS though... I remember parts guy comparing Yamaha piston and rings to Hap Jones kit for my Dad and they did "look" pretty much identical... Dad bought me the Hap Jones kit and I never had a problem with it.

Enduronut is THE expert... hopefully he will comment.

Got a few of them in my stash, cast pistons that looked a lot like ART pistons without the ART stamp

Thanks.......I was told by another forum member ( EN ) they were made in Japan and he thought they were made by ART
