Hello again

first of all big thanks to @Gr8uncleal for the advice on the V55

life got in the way and I never got round to sending off paperwork to DVLA, but finally gave myself “a kick up the jacksy” and got the paperwork sent off and received my V5C (Registration/title) yesterday

However, there are 2 slight bits of unhappiness

1 the make is stated as “Yamaha” the type/variant/version is all blank! Is this normal? I expected it to state “DT175” somewhere

2 although I pretty much expected this, I asked if possible to have a north east England registration but they’ve not given me one. It then occurred to me I could buy a (cheap) cherished number eg FPT 473N, but on looking it seems the only ones offered are either the older pre 1963 3 letters, 3 numbers type or the later post 83 letter prefix eg A123 ABC type, can be anyone offer any advice?

i should perhaps explain a little bit of background

My older brother bought a uk DT175 in the spring of 1975 from a Yamaha dealer in Consett co. Durham called Hamiltons (they had a race team called “HamYam”) hence why I bought this bike

however there are a couple of anomalies

Ive Found some online brochures from the era and the 1975 model should have been a sort of orange/red colour and the side badges stated “enduro 175”. Although I was only 10 at the time I’m adamant his was blue with “ Trail 175” on the sides

so my conclusion is that his was possibly an unsold 1974 model as this seems to fit

ill post some links up shortly, but my questions are:-

does anyone know the name/code of the 1974 metallic blue?

does anyone know of a supplier of the 1974 decals, for both tank and sides I think it says “Yamaha Trail 175” that goes on oil tank and heat shield

does anyone have any photos of a “Hamilton Yamaha” number plate from the era as I would like to replicate this if possible? Even from another branch as I guess only the phone number will be different

many thanks

My V5s have no "Type" either, so don't worry about it.

I guess for marketing reasons, North American models had "Enduro" on the decals, and other markets had "Yamaha Trail".
