My name is Dave , I live in Australia, I started riding bikes back in the early 70's, mini bikes with the old centrifugal clutch, & lawmower engine's then graduated to early Yamaha 100's. I purchase a 1969 honda cb 350 cc, stripped it down and turned it into a trail bike, knobby Tyre's changed the gearing , straight out loud pipes, then go bush. When I got my licence in 1975, I purchased a Yamaha a DT400B. My first new Yamaha was a 1982 IT495H, I also had a couple of second hand IT250's, a TS185 suzuki, a honda Elsinore 250. and a 1947 AJS 350. I currently have a 1971 DT1 - E which I restored in 2007, a 1971 DT1MX with a 73 DT3 motor, under restoration, 1974 DT100A, that I swapped a case of beer for, a husky WR 500 that I purchased new back in 84. Great site looks like I have got a lot of reading catch up on. cheers all.

I've stumbled in here by chance, I suppose. Fairly new to bikes in general, and completely new to anything vintage, which I assume is a French term for rust. I found this DT250 leaning against a shed where it had sat in the weather for decades apparently. Naturally I had to bring it home.
I'm not even sure yet whether it is a fixer, or just an opportunity to skin some knuckles and cuss. Either way would be fine. I think it's a '74, which would make it the same vintage as me. Spent the weekend tearing down and perusing the web to see what sort of parts are still available. The water has gotten to the crank and magneto, so I'll have to decide whether it's junque after my handy, dandy magneto puller arrives in the mail. Til then I think I'll enjoy looking at all the pictures of your bikes that are running and have all those modern features like paint and whatnot. Very cool site!

Welcome to the site, Luke! Unless someone did a bunch of parts swapping, that bike is definitely a 1974 DT250A. I have one like it in my garage here in Missouri.

Hi! My name is Tim Moellendick. I'm getting ready to retire next year. My wife Susan and I plan to travel the country with our two Enduros in tow. Mine is a 1974 DT125 Chappy Red. hers is a 1974 DT100 Sparkle Blue. Our ride will be a 1987 VW Westfalia with a Ford conversion kit. We plan to travel across the northern tier of the country and return to our home in West Virginia by the southern tier. Many items on the bucket list so who knows how long that will take. I've enjoyed browsing the pics on the site. When I'm at my own computer, I'll post some of mine.

My current project is restoring a 1977 Honda CT125 farm bike.

I'm Lance I live in Des Moines, IA. For Christmas in 1975 I got a Yamaha Mini Enduro. This past weekend I pulled the old bike out of my brothers farm shed. I assume it is a JT1 but will try to verify with the serial number. As you can see it is not in the best of shape. I tried to get it started but with my limited knowledge I didn't have any luck. I would like to find someone around the Des Moines area that would be interested in working on it to as least get it started. Here are some pictures of when I got it and what it looks like now. The design on the exhaust looks different from any other Enduro I've seen.
