Look up a tank for another model and you'll likely find it also matches except for the first three as well...  first three are critical to getting the correct part most of the time.

I can't say it won't fit because they were similar bikes...  I can say using the part number like you are trying to is useless.  (You can probably find a Yamaha boat gas tank part number that matches except for the first three)

I have some IT fuel tanks among many other IT parts available for sale.

Family member passed away last year and among his collection were the following IT's.
1977 IT250  This one will need some TLC.  (Just got it home today.)
1980 IT425  This is in AMAZING condition!!

We have the 1980 IT425 up & running, didn't take much, was stored inside a mini-storage unit.  It rips around really well & takes me back to my 1970's - 1980's of riding dirt bikes.  The 1977 IT250 I just brought home today, it was stored in his parents attached garage.  Motor was replaced but they say he had it up & running and rode it after the engine swap.

Anyway, in addition to these 2 bikes there are a lot of parts.  Tanks, fenders (F&R), side cover/number plates, Front number plates, speedo, headlight, exhaust pipes, silencers, etc.

I am bringing as much as I can fit on my 20' equipment trailer to a swap meet this coming weekend and another swap the following weekend.  Everything must go.  Proceeds from the bikes go to his parents.

I can text pictures of the bikes & parts.  Don't have them on the computer to attach here.  I'll watch for replies to this post for inquires.

Thanks, Dan

Scout SS II,

How much would you sell one of those tanks for if I was interested?? I have my 1977 Yamaha IT400 and may need a spare tank just incase. I bought a nice one recently to replace the IT175 tank that was on it. But anything could happen to those tanks so that's why I thought I can get a spare just incase.

If your prices for any of the tanks are in my wheelhouse, I will private message you on here and we can work out the deal.

Thank you

XRArin,
Based on what I've been seeing and reading online I was asking $250 each.  Let me know if that works or make me an offer.

Thanks, Dan

Scout SS II,

I come to find out my gas tank is totally junk and leaking gas everywhere. Please give me your email or any contact info on how I can buy one of your nicest IT 400 tanks. But please make sure it will fit my 1977 Yamaha IT400 no problem.

**I WILL PAY YOUR $250 PRICE FOR ONE OF YOUR FINEST TANKS HOPING THEY WONT HAVE ANY DAMAGE OR CRACKS**

Scout SS II, please advise asap. I am in desperate need of a tank for my IT400.
