Thank you for your help! I will read through your post carefully and look at the diagram. I was hoping I could buy a battery cable kit that would come with the fuse so I could just hook everything up. I was also hoping that there would be some obvious artifacts on the bike where a battery was connected before. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find such a kit online, and I don't see where the old wire were connected. I'll probably have to piece something together from scratch. If someone could take a bunch of pictures that would be very helpful. I could provide an email address if you are unable to post pictures. I may be making it harder than it is.

I got the 1974 Yamaha DT125A running and wired correctly thanks to the last pic posted on here and the wiring diagram for the DT125A/B The picture he shows does not show the opposite end of wires , but i realized that`s the way bike was when I got it, with a big Yellow wire with glass fuse inside . So all you need is a heavy red wire from battery to starter relay. then looking at the last pic posted ,wire just as it shows with a red wire with 20 Amp fuse in it from single female receptacle to double female receptacle, where you have red male voltage regulator wire plugged in also!
