Earlier ones aren't the same, but the ones from the 1975 and 1976 DT250 and DT400 are, according to CMSNL. Part number is 438-83560.

I don't personally know. They are different part numbers. An earlier tach cable would be a 214-83560-00-00, while the one specifically called out for a '74 360A is a 438-83560-01-00. Perhaps a member owning both models may be able to say definitively.

I looked the part numbers up using the speed and sport website (store.speedandsportinc.com/), but I'm sure one can find them elsewhere, like partzilla ( www.partzilla.com/).

Also, earlier ones were originally grey, although I don't know if there has been a supersession to black (there has for the grey RT2 etc clutch cable).

kdi reproductions (see the right hand margin for a tiny ad) has single cables or a whole set in the original gray. Owner Dave is a member here and has gone out of his way to develop special requests for the guys when asked. He'd appreciate the return business, I'm sure.

Sorry, by earlier ones I meant models - ie the DT/RT 2 & 3. As far as I know, the DT360A etc had black cables from the outset.

i didnt see a tach cable for anything 74 or newer when i was at the KDI site a few weeks ago. i did order a new seat foam, seat cover, and a fuel cap seal kit . i swear that is the most comfortable seat foam ever and beautiful seat cover well worth the money.
