DT 125 side panel was created by The Famous Trunk

Hi,
I have an imported 1975 DT 125b. The exhaust is on the left (similar models seem to have them mainly on the right). I am looking for side panels for below the oil tank on the right and The exhaust on the left. Does anyone know where to source these and If they are the same as any other side panels? I have hopefully attached photos!
Regards, Steve.

Afternoon Steve.

Where are you and where was the bike imported from? My guess is UK and Europe respectively, given that your bike says "Trail" as opposed to "Enduro".

Hi, correct on both counts! I believe it’s a European model as it has a twin seat.

I don't know for sure but that looks like a kick start only DT125 with a 6v battery and not the 12v starter/generator model DT125 we got in the USA.

It's likely covers from a 74-76 US DT100 or DT175 would fit.

Agreed.

Have you managed to find a parts manual yet? If you can find the part numbers, then a search on Partzilla and CMSNL will show which US bikes also had those covers fitted.

When looking on places like fleabay, also search using words like "job lot", "miscellaneous" etc, as some sellers just bung a load of parts together to flog them off cheap.

Thanks guys. Yes it is 6v kickstart only. I will have to be patient and keep looking. The DT175 fittings looked wrong to me. . Do you know if the panels are plastic or metal?
Regards,
Steve.

The one's on my 1974 DT360A are plastic. Likely (but not guaranteed) that yours are the same.

Can you show us a picture of the whole bike , and engine and chassis numbers .
Your bike doesn't look like any DT 125 B I've seen before .

I'm guessing it's like this one.

The non-USA 1976 DT125F has a prefix/model code of 1F9.

There is a parts manual in the Tech Library.

yamaha-enduros.com/index.php/parts-lists/76-dt-125-1f9-europe

The 1F9 takes the same covers as the US DT100 and DT175. They are plastic.

The 74-75 kick start only 125 in the UK has a VIN prefix of "AT2" and a model code of 459... it likely also has the same side covers as the 74-76 US model DT100 and DT175... all seem to have the new for 1974 frame and engine design that the electric start 125 did not get.
