Just purchased - ‘76 DT175C was created by nastyroxinc

A few pics from the ‘76 DT175C I just collected. It’s 99% complete, with just a few parts missing, even the toolkit appears to be there! Also came with a box of spares. It’s US-spec, imported into Canada in 1980, with me being the third owner from then. I’ve all the paperwork to get an Ontario blue plate for it, once it’s passed a safety inspection. I’ll keep you updated with the progress...

Nice! You've got the really important bits by the looks of it :) The only thing I see missing is that cover that goes over the air intake snorkel and battery (I think it holds a spare fuse too.)

Thanks! Yeah, it’s missing a few small parts, one of which you’ve already mentioned. The hose between the carb and air box is also not there, likewise the front turn signals. Some parts are too far gone with rust, front wheel is one, the rest will hopefully clean up with a bit of time and effort...

I have the exact same bike and it is one of my favorites. Let me know if you need any comparison photos of anything, like the missing part that Eazy-X mentioned.

I’m in the process of building up a 75 which is the same color, though the graphics are slightly different.

It is a great little bike!
IF it isn't one thing, it's another.

Don't forget to check out Partzilla and CMSNL to see which other bikes shared those missing parts - you'll be able to widen your search then.

Nice find! The 1976 has quite a few subtle upgrades and parts differences from the look-a-like 1975 version so keep that in mind when looking for parts...

One tip.. on the missing carb to airfilter boot Yamaha still sells that boot new for a fraction of the cost of the "reproductions" sold...

Good luck and have fun!

Thanks for all the replies. Yes, having just moved over to Canada from Germany, CMSNL are always on my list. Yam it’s in the UK sometimes has stuff too. I also found the rubber boot as an OE item and ordered it, along with a couple of clamps to match. Looks like the top of the air intake/ battery cover is gonna be a challenge to find...

Welcome! Some members have mentioned buying a parts bike for one piece. Might find it in a lot of parts on eBay, or a whole component. I bought a right side case for $18 because it had a $65-$80 oil pump attached to it that I needed. Good luck!

Thankfully you don't really need it and it's out of sight. AFAIK it keeps debris from entering the airbox (but you have a seat covering it and then there's the filter!) and also to stop the battery bouncing about. I did turn up some NOS in Indonesia if you're bothered :)
