ISO '75 DT400 Kick starter Boss needed was created by plaibike
It was a beautiful day yesterday so I figured I'd fire up the 400 and go for a blast.
That idea quickly went away as soon as I went to kick over the engine and SNAP, the kick starter boss broke.
I was able to find a NOS replacement but it is listed for a '74 DT250/DT360 PN 363-15621-00-00.
Any idea if this part will fit and work on the bike?
Appreciate the help.

It must have been the day for it , I had just fitted the new rubber intake I received from Hot Foot Moto and the same thing happened to me, I'm off to see a machinist I know.

CMSNL and Partzilla list the part number for yours as 498-15621-00-91 and so the answer is probably no.

Thanks Gr8uncleal, that's what I thought but figured I'd ask those that have real life experience with these great bikes.

I hate it when things break that simply cannot be fixed with zip ties or JB-Weld.
If you lived on a hill you could still go for that blast.

Hi,
the '74 boss is 2mm more in diameter, than the 75-76. It definitely does not fit.

Well I headed out to the garage and rummaged through the very small parts box and....pulled this out.
Now we're back in action!

Hi Everyone, hope you are all fit and well in these difficult times,
I'm in the same situation again, the second hand kickstart I got from eBay in August last year must have had a hairline crack which I couldn't see, so today went to kick it over and snapped ( No kick back ) just snapped, Im not paying the ridiculous amount of postage from the US, does anyone know if any other Yam has the same boss or kickstart apart from the DT250
Thanks in advance, stay safe everyone
