Won't bore you all with another thread to the needle tale of putting big blue to sleep safely over winter.  That tale is well told now.  I will just say the basics for those who have not seen my other threads.

Drained the fuel tank and carb and deemed the 1/2 gallon or so of fuel not worth storing, so it went in the car.
As usual, pumped out the oil tank, leaving just a 1/4" covering the tank outlet, just in case of check valve issues and noted that I have got 900ml back in the bottle.  Since she has only burned roughly 3/4 of a gallon this season, I estimate that the pump output is roughly at the 30:1 mark.

Ran on ready premixed alkylate fuel for a minute before switching off the fuel and ignition, then draining the tank again and fitting the plastic bag on the fuel vent hose.

Finally sprayed him with a can of silicone lube to prevent external corrosion and pumped up the tyres.

Very effective and inexpensive way of protecting the fuel system from the effects of ethanol and bad fuel over the medium term.  That 1 litre bottle of alkylate came free with the gallon container I bought and it has treated two bikes so far.  The level in the bottle is still at the level of the top of the label.
