Holy thread resurrection batman!

How did this one resurface?  I thought attention was on my " new candidate" DT100 thread.

Those keeping tabs on the devil bike will know the old sod did indeed have the last laugh.
I was dialling in the carburation and armed with a selection of aftermarket main jets, ended up using the one that came with the bike.  I figured that it being a non genuine one may mean it was richer than the genuine one.

It ran very well, had quite a kick and was running great for a few outings.  Until the fuel went on reserve...
Reserve on, heading home, wringing its neck and revelling in speeds never seen before on the speedo.

Until it suddenly wasn't running...  I had a modification to the piston.  A nice round ventilation hole in the crown.

A 5 or so mile walk of shame pushing the devil bike home. 31st of August 2023.  It has not had any attention since.

My hands have been full with the 100.

Now that the 100 is just about finished, I will probably get around to pulling the 175 motor this holiday and assessing the damage.  Hope the bore survived.  It is new piston and mains at the very least.

Edit.  Just ordered:
Main bearings 6205 C3 and 6304C3 - koyo.
genuine small end bearing.
Gasket set.
Genuine #130 main jet.

Need to see state of bore before making the decision to order a piston.

Parts for the rebuild are starting to trickle in.

Genuine mikuni #130 main jet.
Genuine small end.
Sodding vertex gasket set.  Ordered off that seller because his pic was NOT vertex.  I hope it fits the 175 better than the vertex kit fitted the 100.
