Hi, has anyone tried the FAG bearings 93306-30630-00 on Ebay? 
Or can someone suggest a good 'economy' bearing? Thanks!

Welcome from NZ. I'm not too clued up on bearings so googled a Fag 6306--central part of the yamaha part number--& came up with a brass looking cage. Is that what you're thinking of using or did my random search get lost haha. One thing to keep in mind, I'm pretty sure the left side crank bearing will need C3 clearance as are squashed from the outside & spread from the inside, tight in case & tight on shaft. Where right side is just tight in case but shaft is a slide fit retained by crank gear & nut. Hope you enjoy your time here. Bunch of good guys--& girls.

FAG bearings are very good quality bearings made in germany originally, but now have factories all over the world. I have no problem with them.

For my own restos I use JTEKT bearings, formally Koyo. A Japanese bearing manufacturer whose products are OEM for many motor manufacturers inc Yamaha. Again, JTEKT now have factories worldwide.

Avoid cheap unbranded " economy" bearings like the plague.

FAG, Koyo, JTEKT, SKF and Timken if you require tapered bearings are names to trust.

Lots of counterfeit bearings out there.  Timken and other brands had a huge problem a few years ago. I tend to buy only from reputable suppliers because of this problem. 

And don't forget about the correct internal clearance rating RT325 mentioned... not sure on that model what the clearance is but if you have original bearings, one or both might be stamped with "C" number...  ie "6306 C3"

Any good bearing supply would have the bearings too.  

I put an app on my iphone from the World Bearing Association ( got it at www.stopfakebearings.com) which checks whether your bearing is legit or not. Go to that website to check it out.
