CT-1 battery lifts out the top, but dropping the oil tank down gives you access to the rectifier, and the air cleaner if you have the original air box.

"Pete, do you happen to know if earlier battery box with retaining cable posts will fit CT2/3?"
Mark, looking at the mounts it probably would, but I can't check as I've sold my CT3.
Kind of a mute point as the oil tank wont have the lugs for attaching the cables.
Also, Dennis wants to keep it standard, which I would do also.
I haven't got the cables attached to either of my CT1s and haven't lost a moments sleep over it

Thanks Pete.

Tanks still have the lugs so not a moot point...  same oil tank as AT2/3 I believe which still has the cables.

If I ever get up the energy I will look and see what I have...  might have examples of the newer and older CT battery boxes.  I swear I gave a newer box to a friend who had a rotted out CT1a battery box and the only difference was the missing lugs?  It was about a decade ago so not sure.

Oh yeah! Just looked back at the photos of my CT3 tank and there they are.
And I got my moot mixed up with my mute, reply wasn't worth the paper it wasn't written on

The CT1 battery box is a slightly different shape to the CT3, but as I said may fit the frame.

They were kinda handy. Kept the oil tank from wanting to turn upside
down while you are fooling with the air cleaner. BTW, I bought a couple
of the cables before I knew I didn't need them on my bike. I could only
find the long ones that I believe go to the rear of the oil tank. I was just
going to shorten one and make it work. D
