Noting the angle of the kickstart with the case stopping it i wonder--hope not--if the stop on the shaft has broken. Not an uncommon problem. Looks a well preserved example though. I had an identical 125 same year & color, magneto ignition not electric like US models. Just another one i regret selling many years ago. Enjoy--.

Regarding the position of the kick starter:
The spring is not engaged on the kick start, when I pulled the side cover off the whole mechanism ended up in my oil catch pan.
Have not had a chance to dig into that yet as the cluch is my first focus.

The fiber plates are measuring 3.6 to 3.74 MM. From what I have read 4 mm is new and replace if there is more than .4 mm wear. My guess is the clutch was not adjusted properly as it was obvious by the boogered up screws that someone had been in there. Since I have it apart, I am going to replace the plates then readjust.

If you don't need exact OEM, grab some calipers and measure the exhaust ID and get one of these cheap silencers, works almost as well as stock. The cap at one end can be moved so you can adjust volume and how well it breaths. If you don't have calipers I'll measure mine and get back to you.

Thanks Pete, I am working on getting a complete exhaust right now to scavenge the baffle from. Wish I had the mechanical skills to make a baffle, I could probably retire!

Ha ha! I wasn't suggesting you should make one, I was just following on from darinm's post so you had some sizes to go on if you were looking for a non-original alternative.

Well since finding a stock baffle is proving to be an expensive endeavor I am curious about the aftermarket baffle like DARINM described above.
Not too concerned about everything being original at this point and want to get it back to running and enjoying so a non-stock baffle is ok. What I do want is a sound very close to the original which to me is just part of the beauty of these bikes. Has anyone had experience with a particular brand or version of baffle you feel give a sound somewhat close to original?
