For paint Lacquer use Spray Max 2K, a German product ! Very good stuff for our bikes as it withstands fuel and oil as well as rocks and angry wives.

Hi Dave,
again thx for all the comments and Tipps to my questions. Today I stripped the frame until now no errors or screw depressions. 
Some cables from the main cableset are still missing or cut of.

I didn't found a stamped serial number in the frame, or I need new glasses, on the frame ID plate and on the engine are the same number.

Just a note, I see looking at the auto advance of the generator that it looks like one circlip is missing from the top post. Hope i’m wrong but check it please as could cause a problem. Thanks from NZ down under.

For my own edification, is that on the post about 2:00 (1400 on the military clock) if we were looking at the generator straight on? Matching, then, the one on the post 180 degrees opposite?

i'm guessing your talking about this as there's no circlips on the parts fiche or component make up list.
He's correct .
I understood your description Jim so did a bit of Sherlock Holmes stuff.

They're "E Clips". They come in standard sizes and should be readily available from a hardware store.

That really was a good spot! 

I have a black and white photo somewher that shows the even more complicated version of the AT set on what was probably a TD 250 racing bike. I remember thinking " one day i'll understand that". Wonder what they were thinking when they designed it ?
