No toolkit but I did find this...... was created by Pete-RT1
Delving into the freshly acquired AT1-E and, as a glass half full kinda guy I tap the side of the toolbox hoping for a dull sound but it sounds empty.
I squeeze the latch and open the cover with anticipation, dash darn it, no toolkit.
There is however a folded piece of paper lying at the bottom of the toolbox.
Turns out to be an insurance certificate from 1991 for a Mr Dennis Sorensen from Idledale, Colorado (note the typo on the certificate).
What a great name for a town, Shyted wondered if Mr Dolittle lives there.
I have Googled him and I'm tempted to repeat the phone call I had with the original owner of my RT1, you never know he might have the toolkit

Happy daze.
Last time I looked in a toolbox in anticipation of finding tools, I found a Chinese CDI of unknown provenance and a butchered loom ripped apart to try make it work stuffed within.
The start of much expense and heartache....

I'd send an email instead of a call, if you can find it. Title it so he sees 1969 AT-1 on the subject line. A cold call on something like this after 32+ years could be iffy.

Tom, I’ll have a think about if and how I contact him.
Back in 2020, with the help of City Cycle Sales In Kansas and members of this forum we tracked down the original owner of my RT1.
I rang him and on my second attempt got to speak with him and had a great conversation about his RT1 and where he used to ride it etc. (see attached thread).

Will keep everyone posted.
In other related news, I fitted the correct carb today and borrowed the tank off of my CT1-B and after a bit of tinkering the AT1 is up and running.
When I get five minutes, I’ll upload a video.

Things were sure simple in 1969... just touch a wire to the handlebar mount and it starts right up like magic!

Oh, and I'd try to call the owner if you can find him. I bet he'd be happy to hear his old bike has a new life and is being looked after by a pro!

Very nice, Pete, well done!

What will you be doing, indicator wise? I note that the bike has the older style left switch.

Mark, I like the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) approach, I may have gone too far this time

The magic button is under repair, hopefully I can use a mate's lathe this weekend to make a new button.
Got me wondering how many kids back then pressed the magic button whilst at full tilt with head down to try and gain an electrical boost, I know I would have

Repro buttons with spring are available and I've probably got used spares in my switch stash.
