Thanks for that information Mark. After replacing the clutch push rod seal, and riding about 30 miles, I noticed just a little bit of oil still leaking. I think it's coming from that white cap. I snugged it a little bit, but I haven't removed it because I had no idea what was under it. I'll just wait and see what happens.

Check your trans vent hose for blockage.

The transmission breather tube seems to be clear. I put a straw over the tube, unscrewed the fill plug, and can blow in easily. I'll just ride it for a while and see how it goes. At least the clutch push rod is dry now.

Anybody have any tips on getting that circlip back on the gear shift shaft?
I decided to pull the counter shaft sprocket and replaced that seal, and it was shot, so while I had the oil out I decided to replace the gear shift seal and have that in, but I'm having a heck of a time getting that circlip back on. I'm surprised it doesn't have any slots to go into. Does anyone have any magical ways to do it?

Tom, there is a groove on the shiftshaft that the clip slots into.

Thank you for the fast reply Pete. I didn't see a groove, so I just pulled on the shaft and it moved out and clicked in place. Now I have a groove. I must have inadvertently pushed on it. Hope I didn't mess anything up

Edit: got her all back together, put in a some fresh oil, went for a ride, and everything's good.

You'll know straight away if you've pushed the claw arm off the other side--it'll have no gears or gear changing. Hope for the best. Talking oil leaks. I've seen customers over the years see a filler hole & "fill it" to the top!!. If that ever happens you'll find leaks anywhere there's a weak seal or joint but usualy comes out the breather tube first.

RT325, it's all good, no problems. I was trying to be careful not to push or pull on that shaft, but maybe when I levered the circlip off I accidentally pushed on it a bit. When I pulled on it it moved less than a quarter inch, and clicked solidly in place. It was actually a good time to do an oil change too. When I started working on this bike it only had 340 miles on it, so it really wasn't even broken in yet. I've put over 800 miles on it since, so I consider the oil I just took out the break-in oil. I only filled it up halfway on the dipstick with the bike level, then after a ride I checked it and topped it off a little bit. Still midway between the marks. Now all of the oil seals have been replaced.
