Thanks Dave.

The original post (on the RD forum) was whether or not the son would be better off selling as is or parting out. I asked how much he'd take (£1250) and so bought it whilst Gr8auntiepat was visiting her sister in Sturgeonland!

Funnily enough, she's off playing golf today in the land of the Taffs (and picking up a YHA205 switch gear for me from Frome on the way home!) and so hasn't seen it yet.
