1971 CT1C Flywheel interchangeability was created by mwlockwood

Morning all,

The rivets on my flywheel have sheared!

They were corroded and I was abusing the bike 'slightly' prior to its rebore and case splitting in a couple weeks. I'm sad to have broken her but she was enjoying it I just know it.

My flywheel is a Hitachi 'F130'. Will any F130 flywheel do, or can I use some from some other bikes?

Looking on eBay the HT1 flywheel is also a F130, and similar size. Any experience and input appreciated! Cheers guys,

Shearing the ribets would be a rare event although did it on my RT1after trying to tighten them, well supported & hammered which must have fractured them all. Had you been doing something like that on yours?. If it let go like mine did then how is the stator.

Morning all!

Dave I am in the UK - chances are you are in the US? :(

The bike came to me recently from the US so I don't know much maintenance history but I can see from the flywheel in general this guy didn't have the correct tools to remove it the couple times he did!

maybe that contributed. Maybe it was my 220lbs doing clutch up wheelies on a 50 year old bike!
