Single yellow/white might also be from voltage regulator.

It’s a 1975 512 wire is out of the voltage regulator 
bolted to the air box see photo 
There is only 3 wires coming out of the magneto

In that case it will plug into a female bullet connector of the same colour coming out of the main harness. Have a real close look and see if it has been cut off, taped over or maybe even plugged into a wire of a different colour. Assuming that the main harness hasn't been removed and refitted in the wrong position, then the wire you're after will be within easy reach of the one from the regulator.
