Crikey o Riley you lot know your stuff! I’ll check my VIN. It is definitely a push fit oil outlet fitting and I have the ball and spring safely for the NRV. Thanks again!

If original paint, 1973 DT3 is dark green and 1974 DT250 is gold. Lots of other differences, but colour is a quick check.

Thanks...spot on, it was Yamaha Racing Green originally, looking on the VIN list it shows the 1973 DT3. I will look at the parts list for the 1974 oil pump as it looks like it has the later pump fitted. I will check the flow rate either way when I rebuild it to make sure I get the correct delivery with closed and full open throttle...
