Your van isn't perhaps filled with a steady supply of government cheese and parked down by the river, is it?

I wish! It's parked in a parking lot, with a landlord who holds a dim view on wrenching in the lot. I have found myself going camping with the van, just so that I have some peace and quiet to work on the bike. Will post my request for aid in the appropriate forum!

Well you'll have plenty of time for peaceful camping when you're Living In A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER.

Is it safe to assume that everyone has seen that Chris Farley episode of Saturday Night Live?

Many many times; that was my reference with the 'steady [diet] of government cheese.' And the river. They are all such young pups, then. And Farley is so funny that none, save perhaps Darrell Hamond, can keep it together.

I just picked up a very nice CT1. While it seems most here like to keep them original, I plan to put knobbies on it, remove the lights and get a Preston Petty number plate/headlight and tailight, change the front fender and rear shocks, and use the bike for AHRMA events, specifically the ISDT 2 day Reunion Rides, along with trail riding. I have no interest to ride on the road with it even though it came with a title. I need help finding a 21 inch front wheel for it. It also came with all manuals and a bunch of spares. I mainly trail ride and compete in vintage trials with a twin shock Fantic 240 Professional. Also have a '96 DR 200 I like a lot for dirt roads and trail riding here in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. I've always loved these old enduros, and spent many hours hanging out at two old Yamaha dealers growing up in the 60s. Kunkle Motors of Dallas, PA also sold Saabs, and my dad raced the old two stroke Saabs on ice in the 60s so we were there often. The other shop was near Montdale PA but don't recall the name of it.

Gearboy your plans for that CT1 are tragic in my opinion. Complete bikes like yours are so rare. Maybe we should simply swap bikes.

Schu, I'm not a collector, but your post has me re-thinking some of my plans. Thanks for your post.

Before you cut it up, do you wanna trade a nice 76 Honda MR175 with a 21 inch front tire and a title? I have been looking for a nice CT1 like that for some time! I am in Maryland.
