I guess I'll try and revive this topic. I assume nothing ever happened with reproducing
the heat shields? I recently aquired a 175 CT1B that has a Hooker pipe.
I'd love to find or make a heat shield for it. Does anyone still have a sample,
scan, drawing or anything they want to share? If nothing pops up, I'll attempt
to make something by hand using pics from this thread.
Thanks!

Found this on another site. It shows several pics at different angles of a CT1 with a hooker header similar to yours.

Man those photos are gold for somebody wanting to make their own heat shield. Since you have a pipe to measure the distance between the mounting holes you should be able to have the straight on photo blown up and plotted out on paper to the size where the mounting holes on the copy measure the exact same dimension as what you measured from your pipe. Then take that template to a tin knocker and have it fab'd up out of aluminum. They could use your pipe to form a proper radius around the perimeter.

Sounds like SCHU wants one of these heat shields BAD! With a little push, he might do all that paperwork for you!

The paperwork I could do. But I'm no tin knocker. I am a mechanical engineering manager. So I'm sure one of my guys could take the photo and plot a paper template to the proper scale if I knew the exact distance between mounting holes.

OK, here are some pics and measurements from my CT1. I will probably proceed with making my on. I'm not officially a "tin beater" but I've whipped
out a few things over the years.
looks like 10 11/16"
