Yeah, it was crazy that the steering stem was in perfect condition. Felt unusual not having to press or air hammer something out of this bike. Thanks for the help!

Good idea to replace the whole thing, cups & cones as even small dents can be felt. Hate lumpy steering. When times were tough i'd put mine in the lathe at work & had a shaped tool to pull emery around the end & force it against the cup & cone. Bottom pair are the main ones as carries the load.
