Just so happen to have a pic from a prior thread. Need to make sure fuel can flow through these two which are connected.

Photo of what I think Swoop was referring to is attached - it's the wider hollow just right of centre, with the smaller hole at the bottom.

Edit - sorry, just saw Darinm has already posted this! :Ugh

By some miracle a couple years ago, I was able to get a picture of the jet... pressed in, not removable... and very small, easily plugged... be careful not to enlarge.

Tried to attach a few videos for your enjoyment, but but have to figure out why they keep failing to upload.

I removed the carb and blew out the jets that were mentioned, made sure all was clean and reinstalled. Wasn't getting much until I heard a little "blurp!" Next thing I know she was running and idling strong (choke off). *third video will show the excitement... especially when I realized the silencer shot out of the tailpipe! :woohoo:

I will now be in search of replacing the kickstand as the bar bent from kicking it too many times while on the stand :S Has anyone gone with a replacement that keeps the bike more upright? Also, the trip reset broke off from a PO and I was curious if that is replaceable or if I can MacGyver it some how.

So here I am now, I have a functional running motorcycle (my 1st) and am grinning from ear to ear while I rip down the road at 45mph. Thank you all for taking the time to chime in and help me through the build. I hope this thread will offer some guidance for others that are in my situation. Now to get her fully tuned!

***edit:

Thought this got uploaded, but no such luck as service sucks in wine country. Had her running for about a hour yesterday and a hour today. Got up to 45mph in 5th @~4500+/- before the bike started to pop (backfire?) and die. Back to the shed I pulled the carb and repeated the process. Reinstalled and gave her a kick and I now get nothing but a strong idle with pops before dies off. Guess I’m still at it :Coffee

Yes, you did the right thing by uploading to YouTube but there should be a "share" link you can post here so we can see them... the current video links require signing in as you to view.

I'll post another video with the popping/backfiring from exhaust, but first :beerchug

Also, for those who haven't read above, please not the *edit from my previous post regarding the backfiring. Cheers!

Some kind of ignition problem perhaps. I did not read back through all the posts so excuse my ignorance if this was mentioned, but does the bike have a condenser. I remember my dad's f-350 had a reving issue and pops and back fires and as it got hotter the worse it ran. Turned out it was a condenser.
