Hello from the winter wonderland that is Alberta Canada! 
i have an 80s yamaha here with an H as the 10th digit. its DOM is 9/86. What model year would that be? Thank you

I believe Canada adopted the US "17 digit VIN" we got here in about 1980 as many countries did.  

Made that late in 1986 and by the "H" it's a 1987 model year.

Thank you! People kept telling me there was no 87 models. I know Canada and other countries get some models longer then the US with hondas so i would assume theres a couple yamaha models too. Its an IT200
