1974 MX175 Base Timing was created by Ditchbear2

Recently had some issues with my bike where I lost ignition. I replaced the pulser coil and she immediately fired up. Now the biggest question I have is how do I set the base timing without just trial and error moving the coil up and down the slots?

Thanks!

You use a dial indicator in the spark plug hole to get the piston at the distance BTDC specified.  Should be 1.8mm or 2mm BTDC on that model.

Then without rotating the flywheel you loosen the pulsar coil and move it until the mark on the pulsar coil lines up with the mark on the flywheel.
