Been giving the old saw a good workout but started misfiring eraticaly until it finaly stopped. Had a bright spark but looked yellow-ish in the daylight so google said it has points. Made sense to me that the condenser had failed or wire dropped off. Then i found this Atomic Computer ignition module thingy & had melted one corner to the head. Researching what the hell it is--it replaces the points & turns an old system into a magic electronic. "i'm sure ya way ahead of me" but i've never seen one. Earth wire was dodgy as video will show 'if it plays' but to be honest i think in the end it was just a crook plug under compression. Just skinned the wire a bit & trapped it under a washer until next time. Can get a modern coil/module combined pretty cheap off aliexpress so that's good to know.

You've had a twin spark chainsaw ignition going on!

More chainsaw woes.
My favourite mid sides chinese saw started going lean on throttle & got so bad i had to to go looking.
Hate getting into those pumper carbs but was glaringly obvious luckily haha.
Bought it 'As New' second hand cheap & hasn't missed a beat for about 5 years.
I have about 6 different saws so i'm not in the clear yet.
There's a story to each one keeping them running.
Call them Work in progress & never quite finished.

Think i escaped certain death today playing with my chinese chainsaw.
I had the clutch off to get at the oil pump & thought i'd tapped it up tight enough as the motor spins to keep it tight. Started it to check the oil flow with no cover or bar as i've done many times before over the years & the clutch flew off on a closed throttle after a rev.
It went EVERYWHERE & i felt the wind as bits went past. Took me an hour to find the bits as all went different ways, even under the car down the drive haha, bouncing off the shed & the tin fence. Dodged a bullet there!!.
