Every model of 80cc or 100cc from the very first model in the early "60's if a trail bike!! [like we sold as farm bikes] all have very tame cylinder porting & rotary valve duration compared to the road version of the identical motor [motors].
Road versions went like a rocket.
The only time that comment fails is when we got one lot of road 100's imported from Taiwan [yamy 100 L2G] & had a locking fuel cap plus the end of the muffler was angle cut [call it slash cut]. Those things were snails compared to previous year & customers complained so i suspect the motors were in trail configuration.
Sorry that's not solving anything on this post but thought i'd throw it in.
Oh--& burn out the exhaust & check the port right up to the piston as can grow carbon in there too.
Many a small motor in the old days we had to remove carbon right at the piston at the port edge.
Funny story [well maybe not funny] but we had an old guy on a YG1T who was a bit different but a nice old guy.
He had a small church built on the back of his 80cc Landscout. He'd travel the country preaching & spreading 'the word'. I'm not knocking that & sort of admired him in my own way & i'm sure there was a life story there.
Anyhoo-- he'd called in once a year to work, or maybe longer duration [Yamy shop].
This particular time it would barely dragged itself down the road & exhaust plus up the port was chokka with carbon.
So after fixing that [& probably unsticking piston rings]. When he headed off he damn near had the front wheel off the ground as used to giving it full song & getting knowhere. Wonder what happened to him.
Just to add. All our models were magneto ignition so no starter generator or electrical charging drag going on.

Blimey 38 Euros sounds pretty tough, but i can't find a cheaper one with my limited search ability. Think we're limited to what we can see here.
One here a bit cheaper & if you go to the parts pic showing the rest of it i think i saw an Oring that mist fit in a groove around the edge rather than gasket--if its available--plus the two washer if available.

As for 5am, the only 5am i have is if the cat starts clawing the bed [feed me] & if no response she jumps on me lol.
Then again we did 5am starts to assemble new Yamaha farm bikes in the late "60's with Landscout YG1T's. They were going out the door faster than we could assemble them. Workshop was too busy to assemble them 8am to 5pm so was a bit of a pay bonus incentive to do early starts when needed. We all got good at un-crating & assembling plus pre-delivery check ready to go out the door.

Later models or other countries might have vented carb outside the "chamber"... USA MG1T and early YG1T did not.

Is it the washer that goes down against the clip before the spring?

Hello. My name is Dale Meyers. I learned to ride on a new at the time 1964 Yamaha YG1T 80 Trailmaster and 1965 Honda CT200Trail 90. Soon graduated to a 1966 Triumph TR6C, desert setup. Had a 1968 Honda CL350 that we rode quite a bit in the desert. Lived in Spain for a while (USAF, Torrejon Air Base) and had a 1973 Triumph T100R Daytona which I rode quite a bit almost everywhere. Now, many years later, I own a: 1985 Yamaha IT200, 2001 WR426F, 1999 YZ125, 2006 Kawasaki KLX300, 1996 Honda XR200r, 2001 XR250r, 1998 XR400r, 1996 Z50r, 2004 CRF450, 1981 CT110. They all work fine but for blown shocks on the IT200 and YZ125. No problem on the YZ but not so easy with the IT with the somewhat oddball Yamaha/Soki shock. Shock shaft is worn and Epay cores are mostly in worse shape, damaged or butchered.

Just give it a tap in the end with a small screwdriver & might pop free to then work around. Or get serious as my pics will show. Saved them & ran like a champ. yamaha-enduros.com/index.php/forums/1968...0-s-at-a-guess#42751 Just give it a tap in the end with a small screwdriver & might pop free to then work around. Oh Sorry...the YG1T bike. Not the L5T .
The L5T is kinda a mess and will need a bunch of work.
So it sits for now.

They are just like the AT Enduros...  some are magneto/6v and some are generator/starter/12v.

The white YG1TK (at least that's what I think it is but missing skid plate) looks like a 6v magneto bike to me?

Probably not 'very' stuck. I've given them a tap end on with a screw driver to pop free. Then again i've had to get serious on some 'really' stuck carbon'd in ones. Scroll this page below if ya want to see really stuck rings on my YG1T haha.
