Morning Rides was created by Schu
I had mentioned in a previous post that I mapped out a 75 mile loop that I have been enjoying for nice morning rides to exercise the herd. So far I’ve taken five of them around the loop and next time I’ll take my little 125. Not sure if I will try this with my GT80 or the JT60, but it might be a hoot!
I am amazed by the amount of heads that turn to see what’s passing by because they have either never heard a 2-stroke bike, or they know the sound but haven’t heard one in years. I always wave and get a return wave. I want to become known as the old motorcycle man that always waves. Because that way if I breakdown along the way I may have a better chance of getting some help! I know you. You’re the guy that always waves. lol
So if any of you Michigan members live near St Clair County you should give this route a ride. There are a few very short sections of paved road with 55 MPH speed limits. They are simply to get to the next available gravel road. None of my bikes are actually street legal with proper plates and registration. So I guess I’m taking some risk of being ticketed by the local law enforcement. But so far my friendly wave has worked on 3 occasions. The police officer simply waved back.
The colored dots on the map are reference points in case my wife has to come rescue me with the pickup and the loading ramps! She has a copy of the map for this very purpose. Sorry if I bored you with all this, but I doubt I did if you’re still reading!

Some of my best experiences as a kid were when I was an unlicensed rider, with an unlicensed bike running from the police on some dirt road.
