Start w/ No Battery -‘75 Dt400 was created by ptibbs

So I’m trying to do something I’m not complaining sure will work. I have a ‘75 dt400, with no gauges, lights, battery, and a few others. I have the CDI box, full ignition coil assembly with the boot, spark plug, start/stop switch, and full flywheel magneto.

I am trying to start the bike without a battery or main switch (key). I currently have the flywheel magneto (also referred to as the cdi magneto in certain schematics) plugged into the cdi box, then cdi box plugged into ignition coil and stop start switch plug. Should I be able to get spark with this setup?

Can I check different points using a multimeter go confirm working parts?

Hi from NZ. It'll run without battery--not linked in any ignition way. So if in doubt just disconnect the ignition switch plus the kill switch just to be sure then she'll run. Well--depending on if it sparks. If no spark then the fun begins.
Ok thinking & editing--wont be the last haha. If it's got a brown from the stator you'l be looking for something like 350 ohms brown to earth earth anywhere ya like so long as motor is tight its mounts, ok say cylinder or head fin. Think those still had the two stage pulser so white green & white red by memory reading between them maybe 100 but think its less, something is better than nothing. That'll keep ya busy--till later, Cheers.
Ok one more, if its got the later pulser it'll just be a white red but doubt that in "75 unless changed by someone.
If she fires up then have a plan incase carb sticks open, just be sure its free to operate & just have a way to maybe earth theblack white kill wire or get a friend to pull the plag cap off--umm, maybe not. Hand over the carb would choke it imediately to a stop. Ok i'm getting over cautious but weve all been there.
