RD/DT porting cylinder modifications? was created by yam-fan

I wonder if anyone has tried port changes, common on RD250/350, on the DT125/175 respectively?

Don't have an MX175 cylinder, but from the MX175 port map in the Clymer book, it seems quite close to what's used on an RD350?

The RD's have a longer stroke . . .  so port map "heights" would not correspond all that well with the 125/175's.
Just saying ... comparing apples too oranges there.

Using degrees of crank rotation (rather then port maps) to determine port timing, would offer a more realistic comparison.

Can see the 4mm difference, would mean porting being exactly the same as the twins is not possible, but curious if alterations such as modified transfer windows, in the bottom of the liner, that seem quite common on the twins, are also carried out on the DTs?
