Just pulled the gas tank off the HT1 after fighting to get the cap off.

Lots of gunk from old gas, and lots of rust.
Haven't looked inside yet.
Appears to have pin holes in channel underneath, remnants of of old gas that was leaking. I'll soon find out.

if all that crud oxidized steel then the tank probably lost a large percentage of its mass!
hopefully the carb is in better shape and you can find a proper tank on eBay, might be risky to park the one you have in your garage with gas in it?
