Does anyone know why the letter  F was added to the vin prefix on 71-73 DT250's ? example: DT1F- xxxxxx  not DT1- xxxxxx

1970 DT250C
1971 DT250E
1964 C100 / rally kit

The person who decided to do this was probably the same person that decided it would be a good idea to use the prefix DT2 and RT2 on the European DT250A and DT360A respectively!
