Removing compression release

Removing compression release was created by yamahahaha

Picked up a 69 CT1 today and believe it or not someone had put in this compression release.
How do I remove the cable so I can get a socket on to remove. Sorry crappy picture

You'll have to scrape the crud off but there's probably a little allen screw that holds inner cable into lower part.

Thanks Mark, ya I know it's dirty. I'm at a slight disadvantage I don't have my usual amenities where I'm currently keeping this bike

See arrow.  Should be a small allen screw that holds in a bare cable.  When I was a kid mine was a PITA...  once I removed it cable got frayed and it was almost impossible to reinstall.

I'd like to salvage it if possible BUT........

It's no beauty queen .. I just couldn't pass it up being it's a first year for the 175 model

I wouldn't run it with that spark plug.

Your picture.  It looks like an extended tip wide gap hot heat range plug from a Nissan or something from what I can see of the number.

I  dont even know whats in it. Just got the bike today. If I had to bet you are probably right. I will check tomorrow for sure
