Handlebar switch wiring. Anyone have the wiring diagram. The knockoff I bought looks like this. It doesn't match up

Make sure the dimmer switch is a "make-before-break" version.
Otherwise you will blow your headlight from a voltage surge.

There is a Tech Library Link tab at the top of this page. Click that, then Wiring Diagrams. The '71 RT1-B diagram will be the same as your bike's wiring. Then just match to the switch you got.

DEET's 100% right. Don't know what you got, but if you only switch headlight hi/lo lo/hi at idle/low 
rpm you'll save the light filaments.
