dt175mx clutch was created by Johnnytheboy

Hi. Anyone know if a 1979 DT175MX clutch basket can be replaced by a 1980-81 one please?
Part numbers on diagrams are different and was wondering if it’s same size but improved spec
Thank you

You'll need to be more specific about what you are looking at or for?

On the US bikes, I've not seen a difference between 78-81 DT175 clutch. Some of the 125's had a shorter basket but 175's are the same. I looked at parts diagram and didn't see a difference there either but I might not understand what part you need.

Should be okay. 78-79 DT125 monoshock had a shorter clutch with less plates. DT175 monoshock all had the taller clutch as well as the 80-81 125.

If you swap assembly, wouldn't matter anyway.

Just check that the clutch cover isn't wider 'stepped out a bit' on the one with the wider basket. Probably just run the same cover on all models.
