ct3 ignition ? was created by jez

Hi Guys, I am trying to restore a ct3 and would like some information on the ignition system. can anyone tell me how the ignition HT coil gets a live 6v to it ? it has a black wire connected that goes into the loom and I presume back to the points somehow, im trying to get a spark at the plug and some help or advice would be great. is there a tech page here that might help?

It's a magneto. No battery required. No 6v to coil like a battery ignition. Manuals are available in tech library.

Try cleaning the point contacts. That's the most common issue on a bike that has been sitting. Second is disconnect the kill switches by disconnecting the black or black/white that tees into the black from the points. You just need the black from point to coil under tank to get spark.
