Finding GT80 Year was created by tattosti

Hi Guys, I spend a few hours now trying to figure the production year of my GT80, the dealer papers says that is and 1986 year, but I can't find information on this model year, so I've have manage to get the frame (Vin) number ens it starts with: 374, so by the information I found my bike should be a GT80A from 1973, but I can't find pictures with my color and decal combination.
So any information regarding my bike would be very useful on my search for parts, decals, color, etc. I now embarking on a full restoration of this bike since its been in my family longer than I have (hahaha). I will attach some pics.

This website has what is arguably the most accurate VIN identification for US and many other models. Unfortunately doesn't go to 1983.

One challenge with the GT80 is that it was made for many, many years with pretty much only cosmetic changes... so sometimes people swap parts.

If it's a 1983 North American model it should have a 17 digit VIN on the steering head sticker as well as a production date. Frame stamp may or may not be 17 digits long... they allowed "fragments" to be stamped in the first couple years but the sticker from 1981-on will have the 17 digits with the frame stamped digits embedded in the 17 digits if that makes sense.

Engine would have the shorter number... as best as I can tell, Yamaha used the 374 prefix into the 1980's... but the rest of the VIN after the 374 would be expected to be 0800000 or higher?
