Petrol tank interchangeability, DT250/360/400. was created by Gr8uncleal
Will the 1975 and 1976 DT250/400 petrol tanks fit the 1974 DT250/360 without any modifications? From what I can see, the seat and oil tank are interchangeable, so fingers crossed that the petrol tanks are as well.
I'm looking to increase the replacement options for my somewhat less than perfect DT360A tanks!
Thanks.

Tomorrow I will try my DT250B tank on my DT360A.
Unless someone gives you an answer sooner.
But the gas caps twist for the B and hinge for the A.

Thanks Schu, I appreciate that.

Yes, I know the top "halves" differ, but hopefully their undersides don't!

I'm not sure if this helps any , but I have come across a DT 400 B that had been fitted with a DT 360 A fuel tank .
It fitted fine , as I recall .

Sorry, but I don’t have good news for you. The first two photos show the tanks fitment on the proper bikes. The next photo shows the 250 tank not being able to slide far enough forward. It comes in contact with the cable routing hoop that is welded onto the left side of the 360 frame. It needs to come forward about another 18mm in order to settle over the stud. But even if you modify the cable routing hoop you would end up coming against the triple clamp, or maybe right up to it. I was unable to verify how far the two rubber pucks are into the receivers. I also question if the fork tubes would stuff against the tank at full turn.
Sorry, but I am not willing to bend or modify the cable routing hoop on this bike. Let me know if you need me to look at anything differently than I have with these photos.

Thanks Schu, I really appreciate your effort on my behalf.
Anyone out there got a nice matching pair of DT250A/360A tanks going spare?!
