75' DT250. 2 and 3 stem Tubes? was created by heick
Sooooo, I have the original Takasago rims on a 75 DT250, and there in decent shape, so wan to keep them.
Replacing/finding tires for the front and rear is no problem(3.0-21, and 4.0-18), BUT the tubes?
The front has 2 valve stems and the rear has 3.
- Where can I find the proper tubes with the right amount of stems? Been looking around, but no luck.
- I've read that you can use 1 valve stem tubes for each, but I don't get it? What happens to the other holes in the rim where the other stems were? Wouldn't debris, water, etc. get in there
Sorry for the novice questions, just trying to get this right.
TY!!

If you look carefully you should notice that there is only one air valve stem. The others are rim locks that have a similar appearance but they are simply threaded studs of similar size as the air valve stem.

!
Exactly right, solves that problem.
I'm obviously new to the enduro world. Was reading about how some had multiple stems for different use. Presure check, Nitrogen(?).
Got confused. Must have mis-read and not looked close enough at mine
Thanks again!

If you’re not familiar with rim locks, then this short video will bring you up to speed.
If you already know about rim locks, then you don’t need this video!

Welcome from NZ. Those security bolts can be fun "not" when changing tyres or rubes. Just be very careful to avoid getting the tube caught under them. If ya only doing road riding I'd blank off the holes & not run them. But necessary for trail & forest riding with soft pressures.
