USA & UK headlamp Bowls DT400B 1975 was created by GaryDean

I have a US import DT400B 1975 here in the UK. I want to fit a new headlamp lamp as the one in it is a US version and it's been bodged in and held in with silicon by the previous owner (not a sealed beam unit)
Yambits have them for sale together with a chrome rim, here is a link  yambits.co.uk/images/hlu013.jpg

On enquiry regarding the bulb type (mine is 12v converted) they advised the headlamp bowls (USA) are different to the UK headlamp bowl.? and this rim will not fit
Has anyone got experience of this, or adapted the UK unit to the US bowl? or what is the difference between them?
any photos of both together for comparison

I will take photos of mine and post them
Any info would be helpful

The US headlight has a lot of beam adjustment paraphernalia and the headlight fitment itself is different - checkout the parts diagrams on CMSNL or Partzilla to see what I mean. UK/Europe is just headlight to rim, using 3 or 4 spring clips to retain.

Edit - Also, the rim retaining screw is on the left (as you sit on the bike) for the US models, whereas the Yambits one might have it in the more common position on the right.

Thanks, yes my retainer is on the left
If the lip of the bowl is the same, Im wondering if the ring cane be inverted and the lamp re positioned the right way to get a fit, but I think thats prob a long shot
I could do with a photo of a UK bowl lip to compare. I assume the diameter would be the same

I have a feeling that I've done something like that on my own 1974 DT360A - the small drain hole that should be top dead bottom is to the left of top centre. Trouble is, I've got so many bikes that I flit to and fro on, that I can't remember exactly what I did and when!
