DT400 Head Gasket reusable? was created by Clegg
I pulled the head on my 75 DT400. Is the copper head gasket is reusable on this model?

It is if you anneal it. Heat it up with a blow torch till it takes on a very dull red glow and drop it in a bucket of water.
or if you have an infra red thermometer, heat it to 500C or so.

Dunno. There is a full service manual for it, all ready to download in the tech library.

For reference.
Looked in the manual under engine rebuild, but found the spec in the front few pages. 2.1-2.5 M-KG which converts to 15.189329 to 18.082 ft lbs.
The cylinder torque spec is 30 to 32 ft lbs.

8mm head bolts on many of my bikes are 15 ft lb in manual
I always anneal and reuse my head gaskets by heating. But I don’t quench, so maybe I am not doing it properly?

Does not really matter either way. I just like to clear anything hot away ASAP. I have a tendency to find hot metal when I am not paying attention...
