DT250 electrics, yep another !! was created by laup

Help please before i beat it with a massive hammer !! redid electrics and tail light flashes in time with indicators, checked grounds, checked eveything over and over, bulbs all fine etc, even unplugged everything so just one indicator, flasher relay ( from yambits new) and tail light wired in and still did it, battery fairly new, charged, even does it when given revs. what am i missing please? and no volt meter but may have to get one, just thought it would be something simple. wanted to get bike out for summer this year, not next :) thanks.

Important question:  Is taillight on and DIMMING (or shutting off) when turn signal bulb lights up?

Or is taillight off and lights up at the exact same time as turn signal bulb?

Or?  It's important to describe exactly what is happening...  better yet, upload a short video to YouTube or Vimeo and link it here.

Let me try to ask a different question.  When turn signal lights up, EXACTLY what happens to taillight?

thanks, when indicator is turned on the tail light flashes in time with the indicator, as in normal brightness then a lot lower brightness and then normal again in time with indicator flashing, does it even with everything else disconnected so just 1 indicator, flasher, ignition switch and tail light connected.

My apologies.  I'm not understanding what you're describing.  When I asked if the taillight was dimming, you said:

....the tail light goes on and off in time with the indicator, does not dim...

Then when I asked exactly what happens when the turn signal lights up you said:

....the tail light flashes in time with the indicator, as in normal brightness then a lot lower brightness and then normal again in time with indicator flashing...

That last description sounds exactly like the taillight dims.  If the taillight is at normal brightness and then is at a lot lower brightness that sounds like a textbook definition of "dimming".  What am I missing?

Anyway, if your taillight is dimming, it's not that uncommon.  I've seen it a lot and I've tried to describe many times and different ways to troubleshoot but nobody has ever actually tried it or they didn't understand what I said.  I'm not going to try to go over it again.  Plus you said you didn't have a meter anyway.  .

Skydancer recently posted a thread on LED turn signals which would probably solve your issue.
