Can anyone identify this rubber part from a 1975 DT175B?

Try it here....I have seen similar items that protect wires from sharp sheet metal.

I think Deet is correct, that part definitely comes from the taillight bracket area, when I saw that part I knew it was a Yamaha part but I just couldn’t remember where, Deet jogged my memory, look at your taillight bracket you will see witness marks where the paint is not faded on the taillight bracket.

DEET is correct. I literally just installed that 2 days ago on my 75 DT250 restoration.

You may not have taken it off there! That is, if a PO had put it back on in the wrong place. I have an AT-1E that I am working on that had the front wheel on backwards and the head on backwards when I bought it. Never trust a PO.
