Replacement Headlight for '75 DT250 was created by shousetheo
I need a new headlight, but I'm not sure which ones online would work. I do know that the headlight is alternating current while the rest of the bike is on direct current. Does this affect which light I buy? I attached a picture of a headlight I've seen a few times being sold for cheap online. Would this work? (I'm not super electrically inclined, evidently.)
Any help would be great!

For the purposes of fitment, ignore the AC or DC issue. All that you need to check is that it physically fits your bike and that the voltage of the bulb fitted (6 or 12) matches the system on your bike. It's probably good practice to fit a bulb with the same wattage as the original fitted to the bike (probably 35/35).

My 250A has Wagner 4020 sealed beam. I haven't seen any anywhere for a long time. Just out of curiosity I just googled Wagner 4020 and this is one that popped up. The reviews are interesting.

Well, based on the fact that two of the glowing reviews were from guys who bought and used them on their '75 DT250s, I just ordered two of these! I just took possession of a nice '75 DT250-B today and both sealed beam filaments are burned out. I have a voltage regulator coming next week, and hope to have all the electrical connections cleaned and tested before then. I'll let you know how the sealed beam unit that you linked to works out for me, but if the other two DT250 owners' reviews are any indication, they should be fine!

I appreciate all the help. I'll order the 4020 bulb. Do you think I also need a voltage regulator? My bike runes on 6V I believe.

Pretty sure that it splices into the BLUE clock illumination lights in the headlight bowl - well, that's what the Yamaha service bulletin states!

I've got a related issue:
I put in new bulbs for the tail light, brake light, and blinkers, and they all starting working. Then my battery died (it wasn't recharging, so that might be another issue). The guy at the battery store said I needed a new battery since the dead one was swollen. I bought a new battery, charged it, and it's giving off 6.5-7 volts. But when I put it in the bike, none of the lights would work. I checked the filaments, and none of them is broken. Is there a fuse I need to check or something like that?
Sorry I have so many questions! You all have been super helpful.

Yes, there is a fuse.
Photo of my 1974 DT360A attached for reference - yours should be similar.
And yes, I know that my wiring needs tidying up!
