Thanks, it's been a labor of love and patience over the past 11 months for sure. I am fighting myself to keep from going overboard on the few details left, I like where it's at but the super anal side of me wants to keep going lol.

I am in Texas, down near Bay City.

She's off to attempt PDR on the tanks. Fingers crossed he's successful, I really don't want to lose the patina and authenticity of the original Virginia Gold paint.

All of the dings and the single crease in the fuel tank were successfully removed by my PDR guy. He couldn't remove the crease in the oil tank due to the structure inside of the tank so I gave him the go ahead to try and glue pull it from the outside. Hopefully it doesn't remove the original paint, I'd hate to have repaint these tanks but I wasn't willing to live with that crease so it's worth the gamble. I'll report back the results of that as soon as I hear from him.

Every single ding was successfully removed from the fuel tank and all but the upper edge from the crease on the oil tank was removed as well. I have to say that I am impressed and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. I love that I was able to salvage the original paint and patina by giving PDR a try. So note to anyone considering using PDR as an alternative to paint and body work I highly suggest you find a competent shop and give it a try.

The only thing left to do is replace the oil tank decal and give it a proper wash, polish, and wax and this restoration is complete.

A good wash and some polishing and I think she'll be complete. Plenty of orange in the garage at the moment lol.

Nice job on the resto, I wish I kept mine. I liked it more than my DT360.
Thanks Mark
